WORCESTER ― A Planet Fitness gym and fitness club will open at the Mercantile Center in downtown Worcester.
Core Development and Management, an independent franchisee of Planet Fitness, will open a location at 90 Front St. this summer, according to the building’s owner.
The gym will take up 16,000 square feet of ground-floor space, next to the former site of a CVS that closed in 2023, below the Registry of Deeds office.
It’s a 12-year lease.
“As we turn the page into 2025, we’re looking forward to working out alongside a growing base of neighbors and residents here in downtown,” Charles “Chip” Norton, managing director of the Mercantile Center and Franklin Realty Advisors, said in a news release.
